Laser Marking for Cables & Pipes

For continuously moving cables and pipes, evaluate the material formulation, surface, code repeat interval and line conditions together. A trial on the actual product is the starting point for selecting a configuration.

Material and surface checklist

  • Identify the polymer or substrate, formulation, color and any additives or surface treatment.
  • Provide the outer diameter, curvature and usable marking width.
  • Share representative production samples rather than a visually similar substitute.

Define the continuous-marking requirement

Code content Brand, specification, batch, length information or other required text.
Repeat interval Specify how frequently the complete mark must appear.
Line behavior State production speed, speed changes, starts/stops and product movement.
Positioning Show the product path, guide arrangement, marking distance and access.
Data and synchronization Discuss encoder, trigger and variable-data requirements for the proposed line.

Compare candidate laser configurations

The supplied fiber catalogue lists cable and selected PVC/PE applications. This is a selection starting point, not confirmation for every formulation. Compare candidate sources and optics using the actual product and acceptance criteria.

What a useful trial should establish

  • Readable marks at the required size and repeat interval.
  • Consistent placement under the proposed production conditions.
  • The agreed surface condition after marking.
  • A written record of material, machine model, source, optics and trial settings.

Ask for application-specific evidence

No cable or pipe production-speed result is assigned to the supplied video library on this page. Request a test on your own sample and a configuration review for your extrusion or conveying line.

Get a configuration for your actual product

Send the material, a sample photo, the required code and your production conditions. Ask for a marking trial and a written configuration before ordering.
